Bernard Cortet is Professor of Rheumatology at the Lille Hospital and University Center (France) since 2003. He is the current president of the Osteoporosis Information Research Group (GRIO) in France and the vice-president of the French society of Rheumatology. He is also deputy director of a research laboratory: ULR 4490 (marrow adiposity and bone lab: MABLAB). He is author or co-author of more than 287 publications, the majority of which are in the field of osteoporosis and bone fragilities in its various aspects, particularly during anorexia nervosa, in transplant patients, in obese subjects and after bariatric surgery. On behalf of the GRIO, he contributed to the publication of recommendations for the management of corticosteroid-induced osteoporosis, postmenopausal osteoporosis and more recently male osteoporosis.
