Dr Duque is a Professor in the Department of Geriatric Medicine, Faculty of Medicine and Health Sciences at McGill University, Montreal, Canada. He is a member of the IOF Committee of Scientific Advisors and Editor-in-Chief of the Journal of Gerontology: Biological Sciences. He has made significant contributions to ageing and musculoskeletal research with numerous peer-reviewed publications. His research focuses on the interactions between bone, muscle, and fat and on elucidating the common mechanisms and pathways associated with the pathophysiology of osteoporosis, sarcopenia, osteosarcopenia and frailty in older persons. He is also studying the effect of vitamin D, exercise, and nutrition on bone and muscle mass while working to develop novel diagnostic and therapeutic approaches to age-related musculoskeletal diseases.
