Prof. María Belén Zanchetta

Prof. María Belén Zanchetta is an endocrinologist from Buenos Aires, Argentina, working as a physician, researcher and professor in the bone field. She is a Professor of Bone Disorders at the University of Salvador and is the Medical Director of the Institute of Metabolic Diagnosis and Research (IDIM). She is actively involved in continuous medical education and the founder of endoweb.net, a webpage dedicated to sharing free endocrine content with the medical community. Professor Zanchetta contributed to many organisations and societies in the bone field, including the Regional Advisory Committee of IOF, and the American Society for Bone and Mineral Research (ASBMR) where she serves as an Ambassador for Latin America. She is actively involved in many educational programs in Latin America. She has received over 20 awards for her clinical research work, most of which were presented at international conferences. Her main fields of interest are bone microarchitecture, secondary osteoporosis, osteomalacia, osteoporosis treatments, rare diseases and parathyroid diseases. Dr Zanchetta is author of more than 40 articles in international scientific journals and book chapters.
