In this course, Professor Richard Eastell will give an overview of the use of bone markers in the monitoring of osteoporosis treatment. He will review the most common bone turnover markers and their benefit in the monitoring of adherence to bisphosphonate treatment. Furthermore, he will comment on a clinically feasible and practical screening strategy based on bone turnover markers, to detect the low adherence to bisphosphonate therapy.
